Källhänvisning: Obituary Text: July 31, 1923 - Sept. 13, 2004 Kenneth P. Carter, 81, of Albany died Monday. He was born in Eugene, the son of Kenneth R. and Mary Carter. He grew up in Eugene and graduated from Eugene High School in 1942, where he was an outstanding athlete. He served in the Navy during World War II and then returned to Eugene. Kenneth married Lorraine Seaberg on May 8, 1948, in Eugene. They moved to Albany in 1955. Kenneth purchased a wholesale beer and wine business which become Carter Distributing. He retired in February 1983. He was past president of Spring Hill Country Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He was the first elected president of Albany Woodpeckers. Kenneth was a member of Albany Rotary Club and a past Paul Harris Member. He was very active with the Albany Timber Carnival and was a life member of Jaycees. He was also a member of the United Presbyterian Church, American Legion, Albany Eagles Lodge and Albany Elks Club. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, fishing and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Carter of Albany, sister Rosemma Reed of Portland, four nieces and one nephew. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Fisher Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the United Presbyterian Church. Private entombment will be at Willamette Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorial contributions can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Albany or a charity of one\'s choice in care of Fisher Funeral Home.
